Who We Are
Founded in 2009 by Larry Mohn following his distinguished career as a fisheries biologist, Shenandoah StreamWorks was built on a deep understanding of natural systems and a commitment to restoring them the right way. Today, we are widely recognized as Virginia’s leading stream restoration and dam removal experts, with a proven track record across the Commonwealth and throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
For more than a decade, our team has played a role in many of Virginia’s most significant dam removals and stream restoration projects—helping reconnect waterways, restore ecological function, and improve watershed resilience for generations to come.
We specialize in:
Stream and floodplain restoration
Dam removal and aquatic connectivity
Streambank stabilization and erosion control
Habitat enhancement and ecological construction
Our approach combines biological science, engineering precision, and hands-on field expertise. The result is restoration work that is not only functional and durable, but also natural in appearance and sustainable over time.
From private landowners to state and federal agencies, clients trust Shenandoah StreamWorks to deliver projects that restore waterways, rebuild ecosystems, and leave lasting environmental value.
